The following awards were made to the two top students for their musical achievements and contributions to the music program at their respective schools.

Kingswood Regional H.S. seniors Alex DuMars and Steven Olzerowicz receive recognition awards and $100 scholarships from WFOM President David Haeger at Arts Night on March 16.

 

Kingswood Regional Middle School students Hester Selle and Hayley Hawksley receive recognition awards and complimentary 06/07 Season Tickets for them and a parent from WFOM President David Haeger at Arts Night on March 16.

 

Two vocalists of Pieces of 8 coach an elementary school student about how to sing a cappella jazz at the Governor Wentworth Regional School District assembly. Pieces of 8, a world-famous jazz vocal ensemble, took part in a school residency and public concert March 23 and 24 for about 1,800 students, sponsored by Friends of Music. The event was made possible with financial support from Dr. Rob Maguire, Ms. Penny Curtis, the Governor Wentworth Arts Council, an anonymous donor and the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.

More students join in with Pieces of 8.

The Joyce DiCamillo Jazz Trio wows a sellout crowd with jazz interpretations of the old standards in February.

The internationally acclaimed Lions Gate Trio performs Mendelssohn's Trio in C Minor for an appreciative audience at All Saints' Episcopal Church on April 8.

Fireworks

The Fireworks New Music Ensemble, acclaimed as New York City's hottest classical band, shares their music and experience with students of Crescent Lake Elementary School on March 22, 2007. The school residency was made possible in part by the generous sponsorship of Penny Curtis, Dr. Robert Maguire and Maxfield Real Estate.
