Elizabeth is a native of Long Island, NY and was a resident of Watertown, MA from 1966 where she raised her three children. A Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in piano performance at Boston University in 1974, she later served as Assistant to the Director of the Boston University School of Music (1978-83) and Executive Director for ALEA III, a group devoted to promoting, playing, and teaching music of the 20th and 21st centuries. From 1985 until 1992, her music ensemble Summerstrings gave multiple performances in Boston and Woodstock, VT, which became her residence in 1988. Elizabeth retired to Wolfeboro NH in 2008.
