Ms. Bedford grew up in New Rochelle, NY and attended New Rochelle High School. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a BA, Magna cum Laude, in 1960 and from The Juilliard School in 1965, where she earned her Masters of Science degree in piano under scholarship with the renowned artist/teacher, Sascha Gorodnitzki. Anne Marie moved to Pennsylvania in 1966 and was a resident there until 2016. She was Associate Professor of Piano, part-time, at West Chester University, Head of Piano at Immaculata University, and Assistant Professor of Piano at Duquesne University, performing in the greater Philadelphia area as a soloist and in duo-piano recitals before curtailing her career to raise her two children. She returned to her musical endeavors as a teacher in 1984, joining the piano faculties of the Bryn Mawr Conservatory and then the Settlement Music Schools. Her tenure of 25 years at the Settlement Music Schools ended with her retirement in June 2016, when she moved permanently to her home in Moultonborough, NH. Anne Marie was on the Board of the Tri-County Concerts for 30 years in Wayne, PA, first serving as President and then Chair of the Artist Selection Committee.
